Ranger Center - Prison Infirmary [south, east]
Set in the stifling, pulsing glow of the wavering overhead fluorescent lights attached to its ceiling, the Ranger Center Infirmary has been adapted somewhat since its original introduction into the prison, as can be seen from the tell-tale signs. Flickering, static-filled monitors are strewn throughout the area, and the slumped over, monumental figure of the makeshift cloning vats loom in the background. Chalky, cracked tiles form the walls of the expanded area, and, in the center of it all rests a cold, steel operating table; the shimmering and shaking lights casting off of the dulled, blackened shades of crimson permanently etched on its surface. Over it all, the high-pitched whine of running machinery is audible, along with the occasional consuming groan of pain from within the rows of occupied cots strewn away from the main table. The cots, apparently, are filled with the Ranger operatives or allies that have been dragged in from the hostile wastes. Seemingly completing the picture are the forms of two men, obviously in charge and supervising all that is currently being done. Not only the patients, but the technical apparatus as well.
Doc Krueger the Chief Surgeon.

Apocholypse whipes down the operating table as she has already swept the room spotless.

Rylen enters the room, having the coat over his arm, and having discarded the mask and the surgical cap. He's wearing no shirt right now, and only a pair of blue scrubs pants. He looks to Apoch and nods to her, letting her finish her job as he places his coat in the laundry pile. He's built, but not a huge, giganticly powerful man...he's got better tone than bulk...he waited to see if she would remember.

Apocholypse places the the dirty rag into the metal pale of water she was using, and brushes her long blonde wavy hair out of her deep blue eyes. She then goes to pick up the pale, but then realizes that Rylen has entered the room. "Hello sir, I just got finnished with scrubbing the room" she briefly looks down at her uniform noticing that she got a bit of blood on her left sleeve.

Apocholypse remembers that she forgot something quickly offers Rylen a salute and an apology.

Rylen looks her over and shakes his head, "Remember, Private, you need to salute an officer when he enters. It's part of the whole respect deal. I will respect you, only if you respect me... I don't expect to be everyone's friend, but I do want everyone's respect." The captain reached the cabinet in the corner and opened it, fishing around inside it for his shirt, but as he sees her salute out of the corner of his eye,he turns and lazily returns it as he pulls on his black, sleeveless shirt and adjusts the collar.

Apocholypse empties the bucket into the drain and then places it back to where it belongs. She decides to tie her hair back, does so and eager to keep working asks, "Have any more work for me sir" Then stands tall waiting for further orders.

Rylen thinks a moment, looking to the cabinet near the far corner of the room, "Yeah...grab yourself a chair and sort out that cabinet. Sort the guaze by size, the bandages by size, and anything else by category. It'll take you a long time, and I got some work to do in here, so I'll be around the room if you need anything." The doctor shrugs back on his white coat and steps to a bed near the far wall.

Apocholypse proceeds towards the cabinet. Once there she gets to work, she starts with the quaz grabing and sorting. she gazes at what appears to be a missplaced medical file. "Sir whats this doing in with the gauze?" walking the file over to Rylen.

Rylen checks the person's vitals, a ranger who was brought into the office after a fight with a rattler he didn't win. Turning to the private after she mentions the file, Rylen jots down something on the man's chart and steps over to Apoch, placing the old file on the desk near the bed and taking the new file from her and looking it over, "This was with the gauze?" he opens it and looks it over.

Apocholypse replies promptly "Yes sir, right at the bottom, sir" returns to the cabinet and begins to sort the syrenges, taking out the opened ones and cataloging them by type.

Rylen glances over the file...it was that girls that was here the other day. He shook his head and put it on the 'out' stack..she was fine and recovered. "Ok, hand me a antibiotic syringe. It's the one with the blue cap, and then follow me." he holds out his hand and waits for her, covering his mouth with the other in a yawn.

Apocholypse searches through the syringes she just organized and pulls out a antibiotic syringe. She then hands it to Rylen, saying, "Here you are sir."

Rylen takes the syringe and then turns away from her and to a bed that's not too far from the cabinet. A child rests in the bed, her face sunburnt, and her lip busted open. Opening the cap of the syringe, rylen taps the side and ejects some of the fluid from the tube by pressing down on the plunger. Taking up her IV tube, Rylen injects the full amount of the syringe into it, and then picks up a device, and shows it to Apoch, "This is a vital sign reader... you put one pad of the heart," Rylen removes a sticky pad from the back, and puts it on the girl's chest, "one on the temple," again, he places a pad there, "and there are already one on each kidey of the patient...push the blue button and it'll read the vital sign." he pushes the button down and it begins to beep at 2 second intervals.

Apocholypse finnishes sorting top level of the cabinet and briefly stops to listen to Rylen, "Under stood sir," than she makes a mental note of the machine and how it works, she slowly turns back towards the cabinet. Now she starts to sort through the sterile pads, puting them in order from smallest to largest.

Rylen nods at her and then glances at the machine, "Hmm...she's still short on blood. Leah, get me a few alcohol pads, a blood syringe, and a transfusion tube." He looks to the door and sees Solidus and returns the salute, "So you're a ranger now, hm? Private I assume?"

Solidus looks on upon this scene, then says "I will come back at a later time, sir. Sorry for having disturbed you." Then Solidus proceeds to walk out the door.

Apocholypse Hastly salutes Solidus as she gets the alcohol pad from one of the drawers, then she opens the top left drawer where she put most of the syringes, she looks through them and finds the last blood syringe, "This is the last one sir." then she opens the bottom drawer and rummages through it and pulls out a transfusion tube." "Here you go sir" as she hands them to Rylen, then returns to the cabinet.

Rylen takes the items from Apoch and shrugs at Solidus' departure, "You don't salute people of the same rank, Leah." he remarks, taking the pad and rubbing it against his arm. He was going to supply the blood himself, he was the only one who matched her blood type that they had right now, "Come here, I need to show you how to find a vein.." he turns the girl's arm over so it's facing up, and grabs a large piece of thin rubber before tying it around her arm tightly. "You put this on at the bicep, here, and then if they're awake have them make a fist..but since she's out, you curl their fist for them and tap a few places on her arm here for a vein." he begins to tap with his index finger.

Apocholypse places some of the equipment that she had in her hands back into the drawer, then takes a pair of gloves out of the lower right shelf. She slides them on to her hands and walks over to Rylen, watching him like a curious student watches a textbook. "Under stood sir, What does the rubber stip do?" then she looks towards the childs arm.

Rylen taps again, finding a vein, "It stops the blood flow from exiting her arm, and makes the veins bulge with blood and be easier to find. Now see this little bump? that's vein...you rub the vein with alcohol," he does so as he speaks, and then insert the needle so it faces their palm, so the blood flows up into it...that's if you want to draw blood. But since we're giving her blood, you put it so it faces her shoulder, like this." he inserts the needle into her arm, and a tiny bit of blood flows into the syringe.

Apocholypse watches with amazement. then she glances towards the machine, "What does that squigly line on the moniter represent sir?" then she notices a slight and sudden jump in the lines rhythem, "and what does it mean if it fluxes like that?" then she looks back at the child.

Rylen looks at the machine, "That's her heart beat...very time it makes a jagged like it's a beat of her heart.." he offers a shrug before removing the band from the girls arm, and then holds the band out to her and smirks, "let's see if you learned anything, hn?" he extends his left arm to her, so she can see if she can get a vein..not much trouble since they're clearly visable through his skin.

Apocholypse takes Rylen's arm and turns it slightly, she then takes the the strip of rubber and ties it right at the bicept, "Sir please make a fist"

Rylen nods and closes his hand into a fist, causing the veins in the arm to bulge even bigger to make it easier for her to find the vein, "Any time you're ready private...don't forget the alcohol swab."

Apocholypse quickly goes over to the cabinet and grabs an alcohol swab. She then walks back over to Rylen tears it open. She then proceeds to whipe the vein. Then she goes for one of the blood syringes. Now she starts to stick the needle, "Like this sir?"

Rylen nods and keeps his arm still, glancing back to the girl. He sighed as he remembered the events that led her here, but decided it was best not to think about it right now, "Yeah, go ahead."

Apocholypse presses the needle in gently and proceeds to draw blood from Rylen's arm. Paying close attention to the needle she grabs a pad of cotton out of one of the drawers and hands it to Rylen just as she pulls the needle out, "All done sir"

Rylen shakes his head, "no..we're doing a blood transfusion. Put the needle back," he unscrews the syringe from the needle and screws it to the one on the girl's arm, no use letting it go to waste, "which is why I needed the transfusion tubes."

Apocholypse places the needle back into Rylen's arm "Understood sir" How do I hook the tubes up? then she grabs another transfusion tube.

Rylen injects the blood into the girl's arm through the needle in her arm, "Just screw them into the ends of the needles, but don't push that little switch here," he points to a small plastic switch on the end that goes to the girl's arm, "Not until you are sure the tubes are screwed in securely, ok?"

Apocholypse screws one of the tubes into the needle in Rylen's arm and makes sure that it's secure, then she works on the one attatched to the child, she secures it then she begins to press the switch, "Like so sir?"

Rylen nods and holds his arm so it's directly over the girls...the switch activates a vaccuum syphon, pulling the blood from his arm into her body..he begins to count backwards from thirty, aloud, and looks the girl over, shaking his head again.

Apocholypse looks at the child and Rylen, "Anything wrong sir?" then you see her eyes grow with concern as she looks back at the little child.

Rylen nods his head, switching the count to mentally, "Yeah...her parents are dead. She's got no one anymore..." he rubs his temple with his free hand and shakes his head. "I'm just glad I got there in time to stop them from killing her...god damned gangers, Ugly's gang..." he curls his hand into a fist and lets out a long breath, "Anyway, better turn off that switch before the blood tranfusion is too great."

Apocholypse nods understandingly, as she shuts off the switch. then she turns back to the child, "I hope the best for her sir."

Rylen nods, rubbing his chin as he removes the needle from his arm, "I'll probably look after her when she gets better...right now she's more or less stable." Rylen pushes a piece of cotton on his arm and covers it with medical tape to absorb the blood. He does the same to the girl's arm, and pushes some hair out of her face with a sigh.

Apocholypse watches the monitor and begins to remove her surgical gloves, Her vitals seem to be stable now," then she looks back at the young girls face, "I can see the colour returning to her cheeks as well."then she lets out a very relaxing sigh of relief.

Rylen looks to Apoch, his expression unreadable for a moment, then looks back to the girl as he discards the used supplies. "Yeah...I just hope the bleeding from her leg stops soon, otherwise I'm going to run out of blood. This is the second tranfusion for her today, but the clotting agent I gave her should be working pretty good by now..." he steps over to her feet and raises the blanket and sheet, peering at the calf on her leg, which is wrapped in gauze. The blood hadn't soaked through yet. "Good...the bullet hole is clotted"

Apocholypse looks at the wound studying it, "Looks as if it might take a few weeks for that to even begin to heal properly." Then she tosses her gloves into the can labeled with a hazard sticker.

Rylen nods, silent for a moment as his jack clenches, "Yeah...but at least it won't be bleeding all over the place anymore." He looks to Leah and looks to the cabinet, "Be sure that's done pretty soon...alright?" he seemed distracted to say the least.

Apocholypse walks over to the cabinet, "Understood sir." then she gets back to reorganizing the cabinet placing the pads and tubes back into their rightfull places. Then she rolls up her sleeves and continues on. opening drawers, filling, cataloging, and so forth.

Rylen nods and steps to the door, placing a hand on either side of the frame, and rests there a moment...turning he looks at her, about to say something to her then stops, shaking his head and leaving the room without another word.
